Ashes Volume by Age and Size

The amount of ashes depends largely on bone structure and body size. For example, a tall woman with broad shoulders will typically produce more ashes than a shorter, heavier man.

Average adult: About 200 cubic inches of ashes. This is the most common urn size you will find.
Children under 13: Approximately 100 to 122 cubic inches, depending on their size.
Children under 8 and infants: Around 50 cubic inches of ashes.

These measurements help ensure the urn you choose can hold all the remains safely.

Keepsake Urns and Cremation Pendants

Keepsake Urns

Keepsake urns hold only a small portion of ashes, usually between 3 and 15 cubic inches (roughly 3 tablespoons). They are ideal for sharing ashes among family members or close friends.

Cremation Pendants
